During our speciality week in the summer semester 2026, we’ll be serving up proper top-tier street food. On the menu: loaded fries! Crispy chips are our base which we garnish with delicious savoury sauces and put on a variety of delicious toppings. With the toppings we are getting creative, there is something for everyone from melted cheddar and pulled chicken to aubergine ragout. There will, of course, also be vegan specials.
Come by and try them all!

Our initiative "Rettet die Knolle!" (Save the spuds!)
The special week is taking place as part of the nationwide initiative „Rettet die Knolle!“ (Save the spud!)► . In 2025, many regions in Germanry harvested an especially large amount of potatoes – which is, in itself, good news. However, the market and demand were unable to fully absorb the large quantities: storage facilities filled up quickly, prices fell, and not all potatoes could be sold as food. As a result, surplus quantities were sometimes used for energy production or remained unsold, even though they were perfectly suitable for consumption.
The “Save the spud!” initiative addresses this issue: 30 German student service organisations are focussing on potatoes as a food in the first half of 2026, making use of existing regional food resources and jointly taking responsibility.
