Valid from 1 October 2026: Please generate a personal QR code in the university’s own HfMDKApp to receive the student discount.
To generate the QR code in your app follow these steps: ->Mein Studium ->Studierendenausweis ->QR Code anzeigen. Please note: The generated QR code is only valid for ten minutes!
To get the reduced price for students, hold the QR code directly under the scanner at the self-scan checkout during the payment process when prompted to do so.
Please note: The QR code, which was issued in paper form on a temporary basis during the 2026 summer semester, no longer works.
If you do not wish to use the HfMDK’s digital student ID card and the accompanying app, you will need a paper student ID card from the university in order to qualify for the reduced student rate.
You must present this to the canteen manager before proceeding to pay. The canteen manager will then verify your student status. You will then proceed to the till with the canteen manager, where the student discount will be activated for you.

To generate the QR code in the app follow these steps: ->Module ->Studierendenausweis ->Mensa-Ausweis
To get the reduced price, hold this QR code directly under the visual scanner at the self-scan checkout so that it can be detected.
If you do not wish to use the HSRM digital student ID card and the accompanying app, you will need replacement certificate from the university in order to qualify for the reduced student rate.
You must present this to the canteen manager before proceeding to pay. The canteen manager will then verify your student status. You will then proceed to the till with the canteen manager, where the student discount will be activated for you.
