Child care at short-notice in the case of emergency

Your nanny falls ill, the nursery is closed or the kindergarten and after-school care centre goes on strike - even with the best organization, there are times when the regular child care arrangement is not available.

For such unforeseen situations, the Studierendenwerk Frankfurt Main offers guaranteed, emergency care by the hour for children of parents who are enrolled at one of the universities we support.

The child care is provided by qualified personel of the service provider pme Familienservice in a back-Up facility that has been specifically set up for this purpose. The child care is free of charge for students.

Suitable for children who are at least 8 week and not more than 12 years old

Booking

Cancellation
In the event you have to cancel your booking please cancel until 6:00 p.m. on the day prior to your booking.
Please note: If you cancel your booking too late three times we will prohibit you to make use of this offer for the next six months.

 

On the day of child care please bring with you

  • Water bottle
  • Shoes or socks suitable to wear indoors
  • Change of clothes
  • If needed: diapers, pacifiers or special care products

(Please mark your belongings with the name of your child)

as well as

  • your university enrollment certificate 
  • a certificate or proof that you child is vacinated against measles

In cooperation with the Studierendenwerk Frankfurt am Main, the RheinMain University of Applied Sciences offers flexible childcare through Fluggi-Land Wiesbaden for all student parents who need childcare for their children on an hourly basis.

Flexible childcare steps in when the regular childcare is cancelled, meaning when

  •  the childminder/granny falls ill
  •  the kindergarten is closed
  •  the school is on holiday
  •  you are attending seminars, preparing for examinations, writing your Bachelor's thesis, ... etc.

Registration and enrolment:

Before registering and using flexible care, students must register at the FamilyCompass office or the Women's Representative. Registration is required once per semester and must be received by the 20th of the current month for use in the following month.
